Ask your MSP to support people with ME

In the run up to the Holyrood election on 6 May 2021, ask your MSP to pledge their support for people with ME in Scotland.

There are more than 20,000 people with ME in Scotland, with no access to specialist services and little understanding from health professionals of how they can help. We want to make MSPs aware of this and commit to being an ally of people with ME.

The campaign is inspired by a Scottish Government report published this year which shows that the Government has not implemented the recommendations on supporting people with ME made in reports over the past 20 years.

The pledge, which is in the email below, asks MSPs to commit to being an ally and speaking up for people with ME. We are asking them to commit to three specific demands:

  1. Appropriate and regular training on ME for healthcare professionals.
  2. NHS specialist teams that are accessible for everyone with ME.
  3. Access to relevant, ongoing education for every child with ME.

Please send your MSPs an email telling them what it is like to live with ME or care for someone with ME and asking them to pledge their support for people with ME.

Simply enter your details below to get started.

You will be shown the names of your constituency MSP as well as MSPs for your region. You will be able to choose which of these MSPs to email - you can choose to send it to as many MSPs as you want. This is an issue which is relevant to all of them.

Follow 3 simple steps to call for change.

STEP 1: Enter your details below and then click the button "Proceed to draft your email"

STEP 2: A customisable email will appear. Feel free to change this however you feel is appropriate, but please be polite and avoid the temptation to introduce party politics!
